Gordon Reed qualified in 1977 and joined Sternberg Reed in 1979 and became a Partner in 1980 and remained a Partner until 2008 when he became a Consultant within the Family Department.

He has an extensive practice handling complex public law children cases including those involving child deaths. Gordon now acts predominately for children on the instructions of their Guardians but has experience in acting for all parties in children cases.  He also undertakes regulatory work relating to childcare.  He has been a member of the Law Society Children Law Accreditation scheme (originally known as the Childcare panel) since it was first created and is the Chief Assessor for the Panel.  He is a Higher Court Advocate (Civil Proceedings) which was granted in 2004.   In 2009 he was appointed as a Recorder in criminal cases.

Away from work Gordon enjoys travel, walking and cycling.
