Jeneane Gamble

Associate Solicitor

Jeneane is an Associate Solicitor and has been working for the firm since 2004.  Jeneane joined the firm as a trainee after receiving a 2:1 (Hons) Degree in Law from the University of Hertfordshire in 2003.  She completed the Legal Practice Course with The Inns of Court School of Law in 2004.

Jeneane is a Duty Solicitor who attends the Magistrates Court, the Youth Court and also the Police Station to represent clients.  Jeneane is involved in the preparation of cases at the Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal.  She has experience in numerous different areas of criminal litigation including thefts, burglary, criminal damage, sexual offences, serious violent offences and public order matters, breaches of Court Orders including ASBOS and Non Molestation Orders and road traffic offences.

In addition to matters which are prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service, Jeneane also represents clients in matters prosecuted by the Local Authority for example, Benefit fraud.  She has experience in animal cruelty cases prosecuted by the RSPCA as well as varied experience dealing with proceeds of crime applications including enforcement proceedings.

As an advocate, Jeneane has had varied and considerable experience in many different types of advocacy hearing including first Court appearances, bail applications and dealing with complex legal arguments and submissions.  She is also an experienced Magistrates Court trial advocate and routinely appears as a Duty Solicitor at the Magistrates Court.

As a criminal litigator Jeneane is very skilled in drafting complex legal documentation which are necessary for the preparation as a litigator of cases at the Crown and Magistrates Court.  Such documentation includes defence case statements, skeleton arguments and bail applications.   The ability to prepare and draft concise and accurate documentation is very essential to maximise the client’s chances of obtaining a successful defence case outcome.

Jeneane has developed a close working relationship with our in-house advocacy team and different Barristers and prides herself on selecting the most appropriate advocate to represent her client.  Jeneane is equally comfortable dealing with legally aided as well as private instruction clients who face a criminal litigation allegation.

Set out below are a few examples of Jeneane’s recent case instruction:

R –v- R –  Court.  This matter involved legal argument surrounding the London riot cases of 2012.  Jeneane’s client had been sentenced for offences which occurred during the riots.  Several months after his release from custody, Jeneane’s client was arrested for further offences which had allegedly occurred during this period of time.  Jeneane drafted detailed arguments which were instrumental in persuading the Crown not to proceed with various charges.  Ultimately Jeneane secured a non custodial outcome for the client in the case.

R –v- D –   Court of Appeal.  This related to an appeal against sentence where there was disparity between Jeneane’s client’s sentence and that of his co-defendant.  We successfully argued for the sentence to be reduced on appeal.

R –v- A –   Crown Court.  Jeneane’s client was alleged to have committed a robbery where the Complainant suffered serious injury.  Following a lengthy trial, Jeneane’s client was acquitted.

R –v- LR –  Snaresbrook Crown Court.  Jeneane’s client pleaded guilty to a high value burglary and accepted a number of offences to be taken into consideration.  A suspended sentence of imprisonment was obtained for our client.
