Right To Be Forgotten

Kenneth Carr has successfully referred a complaint to the Information Commissioner where Google had refused to remove outdated and inaccurate links regarding a senior executive at a mining company and respected charity in India.

The articles were published 14 years ago and have always been inaccurate and misleading. Notwithstanding that, Google relied on the public interest ground for retaining the links. The Information Commissioner took a different view and decided that the information was not being retained in compliance with the relevant Data Protection Legislation and it was not in the public interest to maintain the links.
