All Issues Mediation

What is All Issues Mediation?

All Issues Mediation is a quick and effective way of resolving disputes which arise from relationship breakdown. With the help of a qualified specialist Family Mediation Solicitor clients can achieve agreement on all issues in dispute.

All Issues Mediation means that the issues which need to be resolved include issues relating to children and also issues relating to property or other financial assets.

The common issues which need to be resolved when considering children include:

  • Where the children will live
  • How and when they have contact with their parents
  • How they spend holidays, birthdays and other special occasions
  • On-going communication between parents regarding the children
  • Issues relating to schooling
  • Child maintenance

Common issues which arise relating to property and finance are: –

  • What to do with the former family home
  • Pensions
  • Second homes
  • Interest in business
  • Bank accounts/Shares/ISAs/PEPs

Our All Issues Mediation Service

After contacting our service you will be offered a one to one initial assessment meeting. All the issues which need to be looked at are then identified. We will help you both to consider options and reach workable agreements on all issues. This includes full disclosure of your finances.

Mediation sessions are normally conducted with both clients present in the room.  Occasionally mediation takes place with clients in separate rooms and this is something we would discuss with you at your assessment meeting. The sessions are structured to allow clients to be able to communicate effectively and negotiate an outcome which is satisfactory to both clients.

Once agreement is reached we will draw up a financial summary and also a mediation agreement, also known as a Memorandum of Understanding.  This agreement will reflect financial agreements as well as agreements relating to your children.

How much does All Issues Mediation Cost?

Mediation is a cost effective alternative to court proceedings. Legal Aid is available for those on a low wage.  For further details and to find out if you qualify for Legal Aid please see our Free Family Mediation via Legal Aid page.
